Read how a group of energetic boys cleaned a pond for the village, planned a grand feast, and accidentally formed their own youth club — Jay Durga Youth Club!
There are some stories that start with big dreams, and then there’s our story — which started with a dirty pond and ended with a youth club inauguration feast! 😂
When I was a kid, I always watched the young, energetic boys of my street organizing Durga Puja every year. They proudly called themselves members of Jay Durga Youth Club — a name so popular that even Google Maps would have believed it existed! But the truth? There was no registered club. It was just pure confidence and unlimited enthusiasm.
🌸 The Beginning of the Legend
Fast forward a few years — I grew up (at least in height, not sure about maturity). One fine day in June 2024, like every year, our village sanctioned some funds to clean the pond before monsoon.
The elders discussed, the paperwork happened, and we overheard the magic word — “fund.” 💰
Our eyes sparkled like LEDs in a Durga Puja pandal.
We thought, “Why not we, the young boys of our street, take this noble task?”
It would be for mankind (and yes, also for our youth club fund 😜).
🧹 Mission: Clean the Pond
And so began “Operation Pond Clean-Up.”
We rolled up our sleeves (some didn’t even have sleeves), picked up bamboo sticks, baskets, and courage, and jumped into the battlefield — I mean, pond.
Within minutes, the water started smelling like ancient mysteries — and some of us discovered talents we never knew we had. One became a fish rescuer, another a mud sculptor, and one fellow even started giving motivational speeches from inside the pond!
After two days of splashing, slipping, and semi-drowning, we actually did it — the pond was clean, the villagers were happy, and we got the payment.
Mission accomplished! 🏆
🍛 Feast & Founding Ceremony
Now came the big question — “What to do with the money?”
Some said, “Let’s buy sports equipment.”
Others said, “Let’s save it for next Puja.”
But one genius shouted, “Let’s eat first, think later!”
That’s how the Kankana Devi Temple Feast plan was born.
We booked autos, invited every young fellow in our street (even the ones who only gave “moral support”), and marched like a mini rally shouting,
“Jay Durga Youth Club Zindabad!”
At the temple, we cooked, we ate, and we laughed like never before. But in between bites of mutton curry and rice, someone reminded us —
“Bhai, we still don’t have a real youth club!”
🏆 The Official Birth
Right there, under the sacred banyan tree near the temple, we had our first meeting.
We didn’t have microphones or banners, but we had passion (and a half-eaten chicken leg in one hand).
We discussed our motto, vision, and future plans — most of which sounded like superhero missions:
- “We will clean every street!”
- “We will help in every village function!”
- “We will play cricket every Sunday!” (This got the loudest cheer, obviously.)
Then came the serious part — elections.
After much debate and biryani-bribery, we finally selected our:
- President (the loudest one)
- Vice President (his best friend)
- General Secretary (the one with neat handwriting)
- Cashier (the only one trusted not to spend on cold drinks)
And there it was — the official birth of Jay Durga Youth Club! 🎉
We took an oath (and a group selfie):
“We promise to do everything possible for the betterment of our street and village… after lunch.” 😄
💬 Epilogue
That day, as we watched the sunset from the temple steps, a sense of pride filled our hearts.
Not because we formed a club, but because — for the first time — we did something together, laughed together, and dreamt together.
And so, from the muddy depths of a village pond rose the glorious, hilarious, and forever energetic — Jay Durga Youth Club! 🚩
Moral of the story:
You don’t need a fancy office or registration certificate to start something great.
Sometimes, all it takes is muddy feet, good friends, and one well-timed feast. 😄
